Somewhere between Blade Runner and Fallout 3...

This piece started out as a noir but ended up as a sci-fi subject... which seems to be a fairly common among most drawing types. Definitely very much inspired by the stagnant backgrounds of many adventure games and RPG's from the early to late 90's where the storage and computational power to render fully detailed backgrounds in real-time wasn't practical.

Red Engine stuff...

For those of you who don't know me, my name is Mike and for those that do... my name is still Mike.

A quick little explanation about the title... Rashomike (a riff on the Japanese film "Rashomon") is a nickname I earned in film school due to my affinity for everything Japanese. 'nuff said.

This blog is meant to showcase my stuff as a digital illustrator and sketch artist but also for fun things and random articles. I'm not sure how much of a blogger that I am but I'm very much excited at giving this a try. Comments are welcome on the artwork. Please be brutal. I'll try hard not to cry...

..I've been taking entertainment design classes at Red Engine in Downtown LA and the following photoshop renderings are some of my more successful homework assignments thus far... The first assignment was to create a garage with at least one vehicle and 3 people in the scene... The last two images are simply desert and ice environments.
